Sara Black LPC-S, LCDC
After five years as Program Director at an outpatient addiction treatment center, I decided to focus my efforts on building my private practice, Life Navigation Counseling. I had come to understand that most of the issues my clients were dealing with could be traced back to trauma they had experienced earlier in life. Trauma has an emotional, psychological, relational and physical impact. When I see my clients heal from trauma, I see them flourish in all areas of their lives!
Sara is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Board Approved Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider, Certified Dynamic Mindfulness Teacher, and EMDRIA-trained EMDR Therapist. She holds a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Texas, and she completed her coursework in Chemical Dependency at the Institute of Chemical Dependency Studies. As a therapist Sara utilizes a variety of methods including nutritional strategies for mental health, positive psychology, expressive therapy, mindfulness and relaxation training, EMDR, and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy. By combining these different styles of therapy, Sara is able to meet the individual needs of her clients.

Clients are able to transform their emotional outlook, find hope, and have healthier relationships with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
